This is unnecessarily complicated, made more complicated by the fact that I’m somehow supposed to get my passport changed to reflect my new last name in a non-existent amount of time.

HATE.

It’s really not that hard.  It’s just tedious and it’s worth it in the end.  You will hopefully have your new name longer than the old one.  Also, for traveling after the wedding, travel under your maiden name and then go through the process when you get back.  It really doesn’t change anything and it is so much less stressful.
